Improved graphics provided by HTML 5 represent a major enhancement over the former standard for Windows 8 and Internet Explorer. Bars, charts, graphs, diagrams and other elements can now benefit greatly from the new 2D geometry rendering. Metro-style apps will also benefit from HTML 5 Canvas and SVG technologies. The development of the new hardware tool dubbed Target Independent Rasterization for the Windows 8 will reduce the number of CPU cycles necessary to convert to Direct3D.
