If You Are Still on AngularJS, Read This

What is the difference between Angular and AngularJS?
They are different frameworks that share a name. AngularJS is the original 1.x version, released in 2010 and end-of-life since January 2022. Angular is the complete rewrite that followed, built on TypeScript. Moving between them is a migration, not an upgrade.
Is Angular a good choice for a small project?
Usually not. Angular’s structure pays off on large applications with several developers and a long life. For a handful of interactive features or a small internal tool, Vue or plain JavaScript will be quicker to build and easier to maintain — and we will say so.
Do we have to use TypeScript?
In practice, yes. Angular is written in TypeScript and its tooling assumes it. That is a benefit rather than a tax on any project big enough to justify Angular in the first place.
How often does Angular release new versions?
Two major versions a year, each supported for about eighteen months. We build a version-upgrade cadence into maintenance so applications stay current instead of drifting five versions behind and becoming a project of their own.
Can you migrate our AngularJS application?
Yes, and it is one of the more common things we are asked for. We migrate in stages with both versions running side by side, so there is never a point where the business has to stop while a rewrite finishes.
Will an Angular app work well on mobile?
Yes. Applications are built responsive and tested on real devices. Angular apps are larger than the alternatives by default, so we pay particular attention to lazy loading and bundle size on mobile connections.
