SEO Tool for Analyzing Site Traffic and SEO Results

SEO tools tell you what is actually happening on your website rather than what you hope is happening. The problem is rarely a shortage of tools — it is that they sit unconfigured, unlinked, and unread. Here is what a properly set up toolset gives you:

  • Traffic you can attribute, so you know which channel produced which enquiry.
  • Rankings tracked over time instead of whatever you happened to see today.
  • The search terms you already appear for, straight from Google rather than an estimate.
  • Indexing visibility, so you find out when pages quietly drop out.
  • Conversion tracking, separating visits that made you money from visits that did not.
  • Crawl and speed diagnostics that explain why a page underperforms.
  • Local visibility data if you serve a specific area.
  • One monthly report drawn from all of it, in language you do not need a course to read.

Which SEO Tool Do You Actually Need?

Most websites do not need every tool on this page. Each one answers a different question, and setting up the wrong one first is how business owners end up with dashboards they never open. Use the table below to find the tool that matches the question you are trying to answer, then read the full page for that tool.

SEO tools compared by what they measure, cost and setup effort
SEO ToolThe Question It AnswersBest ForCostTypical Setup
Google Analytics (GA4) What do people do after they land on my website, and which channels produce leads or sales? Every website. This is the first tool to install. Free 1–2 hours, plus conversion goal configuration
Google Search Console What is Google actually showing my site for, and is anything blocking my pages from being indexed? Every website. Pairs with Analytics — neither replaces the other. Free Under 1 hour once domain access is confirmed
Google Keyword Planner What words do my buyers type, how often, and how hard will those terms be to compete for? Planning new pages, services or a content calendar before you write anything. Free with a Google Ads account Research engagement rather than an install
Google Business Profile Do people near me find my business in Maps and local search, and does it look credible when they do? Any business with a service area, a storefront or customers who call. Free 1–2 hours, plus Google's verification wait
Yoast SEO Are my titles, descriptions, sitemaps and schema set correctly on every page of my WordPress site? WordPress sites only. This is the control panel, not a reporting tool. Free version; paid premium tier 2–3 hours for a correct configuration pass

Short version: if you are starting from zero, set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console first, because they cost nothing and everything else is guesswork without them. Add a Google Business Profile if customers can walk in or call you. Use Keyword Planner before you build new pages, not after.

SEO TOOLS

Google Analytics Setup & Management Services

Your analytics will tell you more about how the site is performing than any other tool available. It shows how much organic traffic you receive, which pages bring it in, and what those visitors do once they arrive — which is the part most businesses never get to see.

The distinction that matters is between traffic and outcomes. Visits alone tell you very little; visits that produced a call, a form or a sale tell you where to spend next. We configure conversion tracking against your actual enquiry points, filter out internal and spam traffic so the numbers stay honest, and link the property to Search Console and Ads so the picture is joined up rather than scattered across three dashboards.

Google Business Profile Management Services

Google Business Profile, formerly Google My Business, generates free website traffic and phone calls within your local market. For a business serving a defined area it is frequently the highest-return listing you own, and it costs nothing but attention.

It is also the one most often left half-finished. Wrong categories, stale opening hours, no photographs and unanswered reviews all quietly suppress how often you appear in Maps and the local pack. We claim and verify the profile, set the categories and service areas against what you genuinely offer, keep the details current, and handle review monitoring so responses go out while they still matter.

Google Keyword Planner Setup and Management Services

Manually checking your ranking for keywords is going to be a tedious process. While you’d love to rank high-volume keywords that will inevitably drive revenue, it’s the long-tail keywords that drive high conversion rates, even if they draw a small amount of traffic. Rather than checking each word manually, you can use Google Keyword Tool is one of your SEO tools to check out what keywords you’re showing up for and your average rank. Keep in mind that ranking changes per-user basis and often depends on the user’s search history.

Google Search Console Setup and Management Services

Google Search Console is one of the most common SEO tools in use today. With valuable insight into your rankings for several keywords, your impressions within Google search results, and your click-through rates for the keywords you show up for, you can get a birds-eye view of just how well your site is doing on the largest search engine in the world. Additionally, you can look into your site speed, and how many of your URLs are indexed. Furthermore, you’ll also have the ability to submit a sitemap that can offer Google’s spider a little more insight into the URLs on your page.

Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is the most widely installed optimization plugin for WordPress, running on millions of sites from personal blogs to large publishers. It puts control of your title tags, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, schema markup and XML sitemaps into one panel, so nobody has to touch a theme file to change how a page appears in search.

The value is in the configuration rather than the installation. Left on defaults it generates templated titles and indexes pages you would rather keep out of Google. We set the templates, the indexing rules and the schema up around how your site is actually structured, then show your team how to use the editor checks day to day.

How an SEO Tools Setup Works With Us

Setting up a tool takes an afternoon. Setting it up so the numbers can be trusted takes longer, and that is where most of the value is. Here is the sequence we follow on every engagement.

  1. 1

We ask what you need to know

Phone calls, form fills, online orders, foot traffic — the answer changes what we install and what we configure. We start here rather than with the software.

  2. 2

    We audit what already exists

Most sites have something running already. We check for duplicate tracking codes, stale properties, unverified domains and goals that were never finished, so you are not paying to rebuild working parts.

  3. 3

    We install and configure

Accounts created under your ownership, tracking installed correctly, internal traffic filtered, conversions defined against the actions you named in step one, and the tools connected to each other.

  4. 4

We verify, then hand it over

We test that conversions actually fire before we call it done. You get access, a short walkthrough of where to look, and the option of a monthly report if you would rather not look at all.

SEO Tools: Common Questions

Do I need all five of these SEO tools?

No. Google Analytics and Google Search Console are the two we recommend for every website, because they are free and they answer different halves of the same question — Search Console shows what happens in Google's results, Analytics shows what happens after the click. A Google Business Profile matters if customers call you or visit you. Keyword Planner is used when you are planning pages rather than measuring them. Yoast only applies if your site runs on WordPress.

What is the difference between Google Analytics and Google Search Console?

Search Console reports on your presence inside Google's search results: which queries showed your pages, how often people clicked, and whether Google had trouble crawling or indexing anything. Analytics picks up at the moment somebody arrives on your site and reports what they did next, across every traffic source, not just Google. Neither one is a substitute for the other, and the numbers in them will never match exactly because they count different things.

Is Google Analytics still free, and what happened to Universal Analytics?

The standard version of Google Analytics is still free. Google retired the older Universal Analytics platform in 2023 and replaced it with Google Analytics 4, which uses a different event-based way of measuring visits. If your website was set up years ago and nobody migrated it, your reports may have stopped collecting data or may be missing conversion tracking entirely. We check for that as part of a setup review.

Can I set these tools up myself?

Yes, and plenty of business owners do. The part that most often goes wrong is not the installation, it is the configuration afterward — conversion goals that never fire, internal office traffic inflating the numbers, duplicate tracking codes counting every visit twice, or a Search Console property verified on the wrong version of the domain. If you have already installed something and are not sure it is reporting correctly, we can audit what you have rather than start over.

How long before these tools show useful data?

Analytics begins collecting immediately, though a single day of data is rarely worth acting on. Search Console typically needs a few days after verification before reporting fills in, and it shows historical search data going forward from verification rather than backward. For decisions about content and rankings, plan on reviewing a full month before drawing conclusions, and compare against the same period the previous year where seasonality matters.

Do you provide ongoing reports, or just the setup?

We do both. Some clients want a correct one-time setup and take it from there. Others want a monthly report that pulls the numbers together and says plainly what moved and what we would change. Tell us which you are after when you request a quote and we will scope it that way.

Who owns the accounts you set up?

You do. We create or configure these properties under your business, with your ownership, and grant our team access as a user. If our engagement ends, the data and the accounts stay with you. We consider this non-negotiable, and we would encourage you to ask the same question of any agency you talk to.

What an SEO Tools Setup Costs

We quote per project rather than publishing a price list, because the range is genuinely wide. Setting up two free tools on a small site is a short job. Auditing a site with a decade of accumulated tracking, three half-configured properties and a listing somebody else controls is not. Tell us what you have and we will tell you what it takes.

  • Single tool setup — one time. Analytics, Search Console, Business Profile or Yoast configured properly on an existing site.
  • Full SEO tools package — one time. Every applicable tool installed, connected to the others and verified together.
  • Monthly reporting and monitoring — monthly. Ongoing reports, coverage alerts and a person to call when a number looks wrong.

Quotes are free and we will tell you if you do not need us. Every account we set up is created under your ownership and stays with you if our engagement ends.
