Vue.js Development Services

The framework a small team can actually maintain. Vue applications and components built to be picked up by whoever inherits them, not just by the people who wrote them.

JavaScript

The Framework You Can Hand to a Small Team

Vue does what React does — builds interfaces out of reusable components — with a gentler learning curve and a structure that reads closer to ordinary HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Developers who have never used it are productive in days rather than weeks.

That matters more than benchmark scores. If a one- or two-person team has to maintain the result after we hand it over, the framework they can read is the framework that survives.

What We Build

Everything Included in Our Vue Services

Build, documentation and handover — with the emphasis on your team being able to take it from here.

Vue Applications

Single-page apps built on Vue 3 with the Composition API, Vue Router and Pinia for state — set up properly at the start rather than patched together as the app grows.

Components in an Existing Site

Vue is unusually good at being added to one part of a page. Calculators, configurators and dynamic filters can go into your current site without rebuilding it.

Nuxt & Server Rendering

When pages need to rank in search or load instantly on first visit, we build in Nuxt so the server sends real HTML rather than an empty container.

API Integration

Vue front ends wired to REST or GraphQL back ends, including the loading, error and empty states that decide how the app feels when something goes wrong.

Vue 2 to Vue 3 Migration

Vue 2 reached end of life at the end of 2023. We migrate to Vue 3 incrementally, so the application keeps working while the upgrade happens around it.

Training & Handover

Documentation written for the people who will maintain it, plus a walkthrough with your team — the part most agencies bill for and skip.

Adoptability

Use As Much or As Little As You Need

Vue is designed to be adopted incrementally. It can run one widget on one page of an existing site, or it can run the whole application — and moving from the first to the second does not require starting again.

For businesses that are not ready to commit to a full rebuild, that is the difference between modernising gradually and never getting started at all.

The Trade-Off

A Smaller Pool Than React

Being honest about it: Vue has a smaller hiring pool and a smaller package ecosystem than React. If you plan to grow a development team quickly, or you need an obscure third-party integration that only exists for React, that is a real consideration.

For most projects it does not bite. The core libraries are excellent, the documentation is the best of the three major frameworks, and a developer who knows React can read Vue within a week.

Our Process

How a Vue Build Runs With Us

Architecture gets settled first — everything else follows from it.

01

Requirements & Architecture

We map the screens, the data and the state, then decide whether this is a component inside your site, a full single-page app, or a Nuxt build.

02

Design & Components

Interface designed, then broken into a component structure you can review before anything is wired up.

03

Build & Test

Development in short cycles, with code review, component tests and a staging build you can click through as it grows.

04

Launch & Handover

Deployment, documentation and a training session with whoever maintains it — plus ongoing support if you would rather we kept doing it.

What Pairs Well With a Vue Build

Vue is the front end. These are the pieces around it that most projects also need.

Node.js

The API behind the front end — REST or GraphQL, written in the same language as your interface.

React

A larger ecosystem and hiring pool. Worth comparing if you plan to grow a development team.

Angular

More opinionated and more structured. Suits larger teams that want conventions enforced.

JavaScript Development

Not sure which framework fits? Start here and we will make a recommendation in writing.

Questions

Vue.js Development: Frequently Asked Questions

Vue is easier to learn and easier to read, which matters most when a small in-house team inherits the code. React has the bigger ecosystem and hiring pool. If you are hiring developers quickly, React is usually the safer bet; if two people will maintain this for years, Vue often wins.

No. Vue 2 reached end of life at the end of 2023 and no longer receives security patches. If you are running a Vue 2 application, migrating to Vue 3 should be on the roadmap — we do it incrementally so the app keeps working throughout.

Yes, and Vue is particularly good at this. It can run a single interactive component on one page — a calculator, a configurator, a filtered listing — without rewriting the rest of the site.

Nuxt adds server-side rendering and routing conventions on top of Vue. You need it when pages must rank in search or load instantly on a first visit. For an internal tool behind a login, it is unnecessary complexity.

A focused internal tool can be a few weeks. A customer-facing product with accounts, payments and multiple roles runs to several months. We scope in stages so you see working software early.

That is the main reason to choose Vue. We document the component structure, keep the dependency list short, and run a handover session with whoever picks it up. Most developers are productive in Vue within days.

You do. The repository, the code and the documentation are yours from day one, and we hand over access at launch whether or not you carry on working with us.
